a 1.6 60 ft for the first time my tranny made an awful whining sound it was 4th gear.
This tranny was an n/a tranny from japan not sure how many miles. I was using an rps single disc max clutch and redline mt-90 fluid. I had also put 21,000 miles on it before I broke it. So I put my old TT tranny in the car which had 183,000 miles on it but before I did I had gotten it rebuilt with a new 4th gear, 4th and 3rd gear syncro assenbly, 3rd and 4th gear shift fork, reverse syncro assembly, a new input bearing, and rear main bearing. Since then I have drag raced I do not know how many times and cut 1.7 and 1.6 60 foots all day the tranny has not gone up and is still running strong 13,000 miles later. Keep in mind my car is a daily driven car it is the only car I have I put about 20,000 miles on it in a year and drive it very hard when I race. Also when I broke my tranny that was the first time the car had been on slicks and if you are thinking well the n/a and TT transmissions are different they are not internally. Hope this helps
